Lotus Socials

Where Community Becomes Connection

Lotus Socials bring athletes, parents, families, coaches, mentors, alumni, professionals, and community leaders together beyond formal training — through cultural experiences, family gatherings, recreation, mentorship, fundraising, volunteering, and community service.

The Programs

Four ways to belong. Eleven ways to take part.

Events are shared with the Lotus community as they are scheduled through the season.

Family and Belonging

Everyone in the family has a place here

Members Only Family Open Gym and Social

Play together, not just watch

Family volleyball, parent-and-athlete sessions, open gyms, outdoor and beach play, and low-pressure recreation for every age and ability. Parents and grandparents get on the court too.

Why Socials Matter

Community is the point

Training brings people to Lotus. Socials are what make families stay, what brings alumni back, and what turns a schedule of sessions into somewhere people belong.

  • Families get to know each other, not just the coaches
  • Younger athletes meet older ones they can look up to
  • Parents and grandparents are part of the community, not spectators
  • Culture is lived and shared, not just described
  • Athletes learn to contribute, organise, and lead

The Wider Ecosystem

What Lotus contributes beyond its own members.

Supporting Clubs

Partnering with local clubs

Lotus has partnered with local clubs and run labs for their players in exchange for a donation to the club foundation or to support families facing financial barriers.

Growing the Game

More players, better prepared

Athletes return to their clubs and teams with sharper technique, clearer communication, and habits that raise the level of the rooms they train in.

Building Leaders

The next generation of coaches

Alumni and senior athletes come back to coach, mentor, and organise — keeping experience inside the Ottawa volleyball community.

Volleyball brings us together. Community is why we stay.
